Illinois Wild and Scenic River

 

 

 

Siskiyou National Forest proposed the Petite Placer Mining Plan of Operations within the designated Wild and Scenic corridor of the Illinois River.  H & R Enterprises was proposing to strip mine the land along the Illinois River, up to 16 ore truckloads a day, for a ten-year period of operations.

 

Update: The Regional Office ordered Siskiyou National Forest to withdraw their Decision Notice to proceed with mining.
